How the Race Unfolded.
The two limit riders Mayo and Grellet rode well to get out to the turn point in 29kph, right on handicap schedule, while the second scratch riders
of Heard, Parnaby and Irvine were down slightly having averaged 35.09kph, as were scratch, who averaged 37.2kph.
On the return journey, limit managed to maintain their speed, while the other two bunches both slowed considerably.
Peter Mayo was in great form and rode away from Grellet in the closing stages of the race, and ended up winning easily from Grellet. Peter Parnaby was third finishing 2 minutes behind the winner, with Drew Heard fourth only 30 metres in front of scratch, with Peter Wemyss taking out fastest time.
