How the Race Unfolded.
Very light winds made for fast times, with Peter Mayo and Kevin Grellet averaging 28.15kph out to the turn, and also maintaining the same speed back to the finish, as did all the bunches.

Alan Barnett, Meg Parnaby and John McIntyre averaged 32.64kph hour out the the turn at the 25.5km mark, with second scratch rider Drew Heard, Aidan Leahy, Peter Parnaby and Dean Hayward about 3 minutes 40 seconds behind averaging 36.5kph with scratch a couple of minutes behind averaging 40.24kph.

All bunches maintained their speeds on the return journey, despite a slight head wind after the turn. With only a few kilometers to go, it was touch and go whether second limit would catch limit, while the other two bunches were not far behind.

In the end, limit just held off second limit by 10 seconds, with Kevin Grellet taking out line honours from Peter Mayo, with Alan Barnett third and Meg Parnaby 4th. Scratch caught second scratch with just over a kilometer to go, finishing a further 40 seconds back. Steve Monks took out fastest time from Frank Kean.
