How the Race Unfolded.
After the second scratch riders recorded fastest time over the scratch bunch last week (they had 3 riders and scratch 2) they were all put together this week, and all rode well together.

They were set the task of chasing Peter Mayo off 22 minutes, and by the half way turn had made good inroads into the leading riders. Laura White, riding her first race back with the Vets after many months, was partnered with Les Dunn, but they were caught by scratch with about 10km to go, then Peter Mayo was reeled in by Meg Parnaby and soon after Mayo was caught by scratch. Parnaby survived until the foot of the Black Range, and managed to almost get over the first long hill with scratch before finally dropping off with only about 80 metres to go.

In the final sprint Sean Prins used his great strength to hold off Peter Wemyss, with Edwin Irvine third.
