How the Race Unfolded.
The small field encountered a cool morning with occasional patches of very light drizzle early in the race.

Limit got off to a slowish start averaging 28.26 for the first 17km as did scratch who averaged 34.87kph but managed to get their average up to 36 across to Campbells Bridge. Scratch rider Peter Wemyss had ridden a tough 120km race the day before, and Sean Prins had not been training recently and took some time to blow out the cobwebs, so scratch relied heavily on the power of Danny Monaghan to pull them along.

The mid field riders set a steady pace which they maintained for the race catching the limit riders with about 8km to go, then going on to win by 1 min 45sec from a tiring scratch, who lost a little time over the closing stages.

Up the long climb to the finish, Edwin Irvine and Drew Heard broke clear of the other riders, with Heard just getting the better of Irvine in the sprint.

Winners Time
Drew Heard - 1 hour 25 minutes 45 seconds
Average speed of 34.3kph

Fastest Time
Sean Prins - 1 hour 22 minutes 31 seconds
Average speed of 35.62kph

Weather Conditions
Occasional light drizzle with medium north westerly winds.
