Strong southerly winds greeted riders for the 12km time trial. The concensus was that the side winds on the normal course would prove to be very difficult, so the course was changed to an out and back along the Green Hole Road from Mount Dryden to just over the top of McCrackens Hill.
The windy conditions and change of course resulted in overall slower times, with the exception of Meg Parnaby, who rode her new time trial bike and recorded near her previous best for the old course. She averaged 32.98kph. When the extra 200 metre of the alternate course was taken into account, she would have equalled her previous best for the older easier course.
Best time of the day went to Steve Monks, who put in a great ride under the conditions to still record 39.14kph, followed by Geoff Richards with 38.28kph and Danny Monaghan with 37.36kph.
Steve Monks also took out the award for the rider who beat their age expected time by the most, taking 98 seconds off, followed by Geoff Richards with 69 seconds and Danny Monaghan withy 35 seconds.
Meg Parnaby was the rider closest to their previous best time.
