How the Race Unfolded.
The race started at Lower Norton, with basically a tail or side tail wind out to Noradjuha and down to the Nurradiel Church Road. All bunches took advantage of the tail wind, but the 6 minute riders Drew Heard and Aidan Leahy put in some extra effort and had made some big gains against the other bunches by the Nurrabiel Church Rd. This was the turning point of the race, setting up the 6 minute riders with a good advantage that they fought hard to maintian for the rest of the race.
The 6 minute riders picked up the limit and second limit riders soon after the turn at Nurrabiel. The last 14 kilometres from Nurradiel to Lower Norton was into a strong head to side head wind, giving the 4 strong scratch bunch the advantage over the two man 6 minute bunch, but Leahy and Heard dug deep and made the job of scratch even more difficult, with Leahy finally crossing the line still 50 seconds ahead of scratch, to take out a well deserved win.

Peter Wemyss - 1 hour 13 minutes 58 seconds
